First snow.....October 5th...too early!

Well, up here in Northwestern Ontario, we woke up to a scary site....SNOW!  it is only October 5th, I'm not ready for the summer and grass to be gone.  I still have to clean out the gardens, put away the summer patio furniture, put up the Christmas lights (so I can avoid freezign my fingers while putting up in dead of winter), etc......too much to do still....oiy.

But...my 4 year old daughter was just elated!  She couldn't wait to go outside and play!  Wanting to build snowmen, make snow angels and throw snowballs!  This new vantage point, from my daugher's eyes, made the snow not so bad to bear though.  The older I get, the worst winter seems...but the beauty of it does shine through and you see just how amazing it really is.

While we waited for her school bus to come and pick her up this morning, we got into the spirit and had fun. We built the first snowman of the season, complete with the hat, carrot nose, scarf and eyes :D  She was so proud to show her friends on the bus her creation.  Grandma is down visiting from California and couldn't get enough of it also, she hopped right in there and wanted to play in the snow what she had the chance too......here is our creation to kick off winter 2012
